It’s Time For Spring Cleaning!

It’s Time For Spring Cleaning!

In Chinese Medicine, spring is a time for renewal and rejuvenation.  Each season is connected to one of the five elements.  Springtime is connected to the wood element, which symbolizes growth and flexibility.   It is a time for change, for movement, and re-birth.

The liver is the organ associated with the wood element.  The liver controls the flow of Qi in the body.  You may have heard the expression: “He has angry liver.” When liver energy is stagnant, we may become irritable or agitated.  Spring is a time to cleanse ourselves of that stagnation and toxicity.

You can embark on your springtime changes in a number of ways.  There are several good liver cleanses that can help nurture your liver and increase the natural flow of Qi.  You can focus on movement.  Move your body through exercise, Qiqong, or regular walking.  Last, but certainly not least, you can focus on your spirit.  Practice meditation, pray, or find ways to relax your mind.  Treat yourself to a stress-free vacation or a good massage.  All of things can put you on a path to renewal and rejuvenation.

This spring, try something new that will cleanse and refresh your body, your mind, and your spirit.  Sage Pain & Recovery Alternatives has several options for you to start your journey.  These include herbal supplements, massage, red light therapy, and sound therapy.  Let us know how we can help.  Call us today at (919) 891-9991.
