Our Raleigh Acupuncture Services include medical massage, acupuncture, advanced laser treatments, and other modalities to treat a variety of ailments including acute and chronic pain, digestive issues, addiction, migraines, insomnia, anxiety, and depression.

Acugraph Assessment

For patients choosing a private session, we will meet with you and gather some information about your health history, and use the Acugraph® to help assess your current health situation.  Once we establish a baseline, we will be able to monitor treatment progress.  The Acugraph® is a technological advancement that allows your acupuncturist to measure and image any excess or deficient energy levels inhibiting organ function.

The Acugraph does not diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease or medical condition.

The term “Community Acupuncture” simply refers to acupuncture treatments in an open group setting.   If you want to learn more about what to expect from acupuncture, please see our “What is Acupuncture?” page.

Although American acupuncturists normally treat one patient at a time, Eastern practitioners often treat patients in group settings. There are several reasons for group treatments in Eastern theory, but the most obvious benefit for our patients is that we are able to offer frequent and convenient sessions at a lower cost.  For some patients, who require multiple or frequent treatments, private sessions may be cost prohibitive.  Patients who prefer completely private, individual treatments still have that option in our clinic.  Other clinic modalities such as laser treatments and medical massage are available to “community patients” at an additional cost.

The community room allows us to treat up to eight (8) patients at once in comfortable two-piece sofa sets that operate both as a sofa chair or a horizontal table.  Friends or spouses are able to attend group sessions together.   We currently offer community sessions on the following schedule:

• Monday: 5-8pm
• Wednesday: 5-8pm
• Thursday: 5-8pm

The community clinic is available for a variety of ailments, but a primary focus is patients suffering from chronic pain, PTSD, depression, anxiety, ADHD, or addiction resulting from pain medications.  Some of our community clinic patients will receive what is called the NADA protocol, a proven auricular acupuncture method used for various medical issues.

Before scheduling a community session, you will be asked to complete new patient paperwork so we can best treat your symptoms. The clinic is HIPAA compliant and we will not ask you to reveal personal or health information during the session.  Please wear loose, comfortable clothing so we can access your forearms and feet.  We ask patients not to bring cell phones into the community room or wear strong cologne or perfume.

Massage Therapy

Our therapists offer deep tissue massage for those with acute and chronic injuries, or for individuals who just need to reduce muscle tension and improve relaxation.  Massage is used to improve the circulation of blood and the lymphatic system, in order to speed the healing of damaged tissue.  During a massage, toxins are often released which also aids in recovery.

We offer 25-minute, 50-minute, and 80-minute sessions.  For an additional charge, patients can request Himalayan Hot Stone or Aromatherapy add-ons to their treatment session.

Personal Stretch Recovery (PSR)

Our certified Personal Trainer offers one on one assisted stretching sessions.  Using the Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) technique, our professional stretcher will hold, contract, and relax individual muscles.  These sessions will be targeted to your specific medical issues and tailored to meet your pain, posture, or flexibility issues.   The goal is to increase your range of motion and flexibility, while relaxing stiff muscles and joints.  A regular stretching program can rehabilitate injuries, reduce pain, improve blood circulation and posture, and according to some studies reduce mild cognitive decline.

Red Light Therapy

We now offer Red Light Therapy using the Platinum LED BioMax 900 Therapy Light”.  This FDA-approved therapy involves 300 powerful LED lights which emit 900 watts to stimulate your body’s own natural healing and regenerative processes.  Light Therapy focuses on red and infrared wavelengths which penetrate deep into the skin, restoring cells suffering from nitric oxide damage which can impede the body’s production of adenosine triphosphate (ATP) otherwise known as “cell energy.”  Treatments can improve bone density, mood disorders, frozen shoulder, and thyroid conditions.  LED Light Therapy can also reduce cellulite and promote collagen production which strengthens hair, skin, and connective tissues.  For men, Light Therapy can stimulate testosterone production which can increase athletic performance, sex drive and fertility, and hair growth.  For more information, click here.  To schedule a treatment session, please call the office at 919-891-9991.

HUSO™ Sound Therapy

We use HUSO™ or HUMAN SOUND technology to apply uniquely enhanced toning sounds and vibrations.  Patients wear headphones and bands on major acupuncture channels while the equipment introduces specific modulated frequencies to balance and harmonize the body.  These calming and powerful tones create a natural resonance in your body that counteract harmful blockers like stress and toxins, leaving you with a clear head, improved health, better sleep, and an overall feeling of relaxation.

Vasindux® PEMF (Pulsed Electro-Magnetic Field) Therapy

Pulsed Electromagnetic Field Therapy (PEMF), sometimes referred to as low-field magnetic stimulation, is an increasingly popular treatment used by a growing number of practitioners including chiropractors, physical therapists, and acupuncturists. The treatment typically involves a patient laying or sitting on a mat similar in size, but thicker than a yoga mat.  The mat contains coils that send out pulsed waves of electromagnetic energy at very low frequencies (less than 100Hz).  This gentle stimulation increases circulation and cellular regeneration, which promotes healthier tissue and nerves.  Users report improved sleep, healthier bones and tissue, and increased healing after surgery or other injuries.

Our clinic uses the Vasindux®Pro PEMF device which offers more than 10 frequency programs.  The most common programs used in our clinic are the “Energy and Revitalization,” “Sleep,” and “Relaxation” frequencies.   Patients receiving PEMF treatment will sit or lay on the mat for ten to thirty minutes at a time.  You can add this modality on to your regular massage or acupuncture treatment, or schedule a PEMF treatment separately.  This quick and painless process is affordable and effective.
